The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Under the general direction of the Director, the incumbent will be responsible development, and implementation of sustainability programs for healthcare facilities in Manitoba. This incumbent will do this by backssing environmental impacts of existing operations and investigate opportunities for improvement. The incumbent assists in delivery of a wide variety of sustainability driven programs and projects that meet legislative requirements and reduces the environmental impact of healthcare in Manitoba and includes utilities, goods and materials consumed, goods and containers utilized, waste management and environmental waste handling. Administers sustainability programs for Shared Health managed facilities. Experience Minimum 3 years’ experience with integrating sustainable development practices and environmental stewardship programs within a large organization required. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Degree or Diploma from a recognized science, environmental science or technical training program required. Training in sustainable development preferred. SPECIAL TRAINING: Completion of a formal and accredited training program in sustainability is required.
