Reports to: Environmental Services Manager ___________________________________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY: In this position, you will work in a team environment with responsibilities that include daily laundry activities in accordance with current federal and state regulations, and C edarcrest Center standards to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe, comfortable, and sanitary condition. May assist in other aspects of Environmental Services as requested by the supervisor. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES LAUNDRY: 1) Washes and dries soiled linens and clothing Gathers laundry from patient care areas Sorts soiled laundry into appropriate groupings Insures that contaminated laundry is kept separate from all other soiled laundry Pre-treats laundry as needed Fills, runs and empties washers and dryers Folds clothing and linens according to established standards Follows special laundry procedures as requested by Director of Nursing Services or Rehab Dept. Launders linens/clothing offsite during equipment failure 2)Distributes clean laundry Assures that the residents' clothing is labeled Identifies clothing in need of repair and complete minor repairs of clothing as necessary Transports and distributes clean laundry to clean linen areas and children's rooms as appropriate Reports to the Environmental Services Manager or Programs Manager when clothing and linens need replacement 3)Maintains cleanliness and order of laundry room equipment and supplies Cleans dryer lint trap twice daily at mid-shift and end of shift Clean, disinfects and properly uses all laundry equipment Reports any problem with equipment to Environmental Services Supervisor and Facility Manager, using established maintenance request forms or lock out/tag out procedures Removes trash from area and recycles laundry containers Dusts and completes general cleaning of the area Sweeps and mops laundry room floors as needed Maintains inventory of detergents, bleach, softeners and other disinfectants/chemicals used in the laundry and report inventory to Environmental Services Supervisor weekly Stores chemicals in locked cabinet or closet 4) Assists in completing special tasks as assigned Periodically cleans cloth furniture as assigned Labels clothing as assigned 5) Assists in performing housekeeping responsibilities as assigned Gathers and properly disposes of trash Assists with detail cleaning as assigned Follows Department Procedures during instances of resident isolation or precautions Benefits Cedarcrest strives to be employee-focused in the health and wellness benefits and services that we offer staff.
