Position Description Job Summary Career Opportunity: Lynchburg Mill is seeking an hourly Entry Level Production Laborer to train and learn various production positions within the paper mill.The position reports to the on-shift Production Supervisor but at times may report to other managers within the mill.The production laborer is expected to follow all plant safety rules and procedures. This is a shift-based position and candidates are expected to work shifts (7-3, 3-11, 11-7) as scheduled, including weekends and holidays. Overtime is offered, planned and unplanned, and candidates will be expected to work overtime without notice on rare occasions.Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include operating forklifts, stacking/moving materials, finishing rolls, material set-up, maintaining a clean/organized workspace, and various other tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications team-basedExpectations of the Candidate: Ability to operate different types of manufacturing equipment including forklifts, follow specific directions, and other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean work environment. Maintain a good attitude to accomplish results in a team- based environment. Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills. Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 50 lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift. Able to work daily including weekends and holidays. Has personal transportation and is committed to being at work on time as scheduled. Additional Description The ideal candidate will have prior paper mill and forklift experience, a strong commitment to working safely, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes, and the ability to operate complex machinery and have a desire to advance within the company.
