Job Summary: Product Compliance R&D Engineer, under the direction of the Product Compliance Manager, is responsible for conducting material testing of both internal and competitive products, engage in new product development, interact with third party testing facilities to establish, and maintain product certifications. The incumbent will display a commitment to AZEK Core Values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides technical support to product development of current and future products to include internal and third party testing to code complaince standards, Assit with current and new product installation evaluations and writing of installation instructions. Conducts research in areas of product development, testing requirements, and building code Responding to code related questions from all interested parties. Project management of assigned and special interest projects. Generates clear and concise test data and reports on results of findings and root cause analysis. Travel to third-party testing facilities, industry conferences, and code related hearings. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. This position will directly/indirectly lead additional personnel and multi-functional teams, on a project-by-project basis. Qualifications, Education and Experience: Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineer or Civil Engineering preferred, related experience or training in construction or product development a plus. 2+ years' experience in a similar position. SolidWorks CAD or similar experience. Knowledge of construction framing techniques and building codes, a plus. Excellent problem-solving abilities and mathematical aptitude. Mechanical & analytical aptitude in test methodology and construction techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Success in planning, executing, and managing projects. Working knowledge of powered hand tools, basic hand and layout tools used in consturction, Helpful to have a working knowledge of standard laboratory equipment such as Univeral Mechanical tests frames, load cells, enviromental conditioning chambers, scales. Precise and articulate written and oral communication; ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and have individual and group presentation skills to a wide range of audiences. Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Work schedule flexibility, with advance notice, to accommodate needs of the business. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must individually lift and/or move up to 75 lbs., occasionally, and 125 lbs. with assistance, infrequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, mobility to cover expansive manufacturing facility is required. Limited travel will be required.Compensation for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
