Closing Date: April 24, 2024 Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Engineer or Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Long Range Planning is responsible for developing and optimizing strategic long range plans to sustain and extend the Life of Mine at Line Creek Operations. The role involves executing all aspects of long-range planning including: pit, spoil and haul road design optimizations, life of mine schedules, strategic evaluations, all while considering potential impacts to sustainable development. This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to make a positive impact on the business. To be successful, we require a person who is self-motivated and enjoys working in a team environment with all levels of an organization. This person has strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and is dedicated to continuous improvement. Responsibilities: • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures • Execute on a wide range of mine planning including pit, spoil, haulage and closure design while considering potential sustainable development impacts • Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coal blending results • Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound mining practices • Perform economic evaluations, long range capital consolidation, productivity analyses, strategic planning backssments, and peer reviews • Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within the business.
