Additional Information About the Role Alton Memorial Hospital EMS is currently seeking a EMS Supervisor. Are you looking to grow your career in EMS? Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.The EMS department is comprised of 51 employees that man 6 ALS units to cover a 300 square mile area in the riverbend. We have a fleet of 11 ambulances and 1 command unit . We are the primary 911 units for multiple communities and offer a variety of services to all of our patients and families. We live by the words '' To heal often , to comfort always'' Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the human and fiscal resource planning and consumption of the emergency medical ambulance service. Establishes and ensures compliance with regulatory criteria, medical protocols, and education and training requirements. Provides input and daily oversight regarding budgets, education, personnel, and billing. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Ensures all equipment and resources are adequate for optimum performance and service to the patients served. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Assists in monitoring operational and financial performance of the department. Assists in coordinating the daily operations of the staff. Assists with researching, evaluating, selecting and implementing systems which improve efficiency of unit operations.
