The ideal candidate will have expertise in start-ups, emerging growth companies, venture capital financings, and public offerings.Job Overview:The Emerging Company and Venture Capital Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in providing legal support to the firm's clients, primarily focusing on emerging companies and venture capital matters. The role requires a proactive and business-savvy individual with a strong commitment to delivering excellent client service.Duties:Handle legal matters related to start-ups, emerging growth companies, venture capital financings, and public offerings.Manage domestic mergers and acquisitions transactions, particularly for startup companies and investors.Effectively communicate complex legal matters in both oral and written form.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and counsel.Demonstrate an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, contributing to the firm's forward-thinking approach.Take on increased levels of responsibility for transactions, displaying a strong work ethic and a team player attitude.Requirements:3-6 years of significant experience in emerging companies and venture capital work.Minimum of ten venture financings using NVCA documents.Bar Admission in California is required.Experience in domestic mergers and acquisitions transactions, especially for startup companies and investors.Proactive with a strong business sense and ability to manage client and counsel relationships effectively.Experience working in a premier corporate practice.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Bar Admission in California.Skills:Excellent business and legal problem-solving skills and judgment.Ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex legal matters.Entrepreneurial and forward-thinking mindset.Strong team player attitude.Action-oriented with an interest in taking on increased responsibility.Job Location:San Diego, CABenefits Offered:The firm provides a comprehensive benefits package, including discretionary bonuses, health/welfare benefits (including parental, adoption, and fertility benefits), flexible time off, and paid holidays.
