Remarkable People, Remarkable Healthcare About the Position The Emergency Registered Nurse at Meadville Medical Center will be responsible for providing care to patients suffering from trauma or other illnesses that require emergency attention. You must be able to recognize and treat patients in critical situations. In this role, you will need to work at maximum efficiency without compromising quality of care, especially when under pressure. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in an emergency department Provide leadership by delegating, supervising, and participating in safe nursing care activities provided by ancillary personnel Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients and their families, and community services for patient care outcome and discharge planning Assess and provide appropriate education based on the patient and family needs Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities Utilize all available resources to provide quality, cost-effective patient care Identify growth needs and participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations Serve as a role model or preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel May at times be required to float from the pediatric and adult emergency rooms based on patient census About Meadville Medical Center Meadville Medical Center is dedicated to serving our community with excellence, dedication, and care.
