About Rocky Mountain Prep Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to four schools, working with over 1,800 scholars across two districts. In the school year 2023-2024, we will grow to 12 schools serving over 5,000 students. During the 2023-2024 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals: 1. Going Green on the Colorado School Performance Framework 2. 90% Student Persistence 3. 95% Daily Attendance 4. Fully Enrolled by October Count 5. Academic Goals - Elementary: Pre-K Students show 1 year of growth - Elementary: Kinder through 2nd Grade Students Grow 1.25 years in ELA and Math - Elementary: 40% of 3rd through 5th Grade students meet their Millionaire Goal (1 million words read) - Middle School: 40% of 6th through 8th Grade Students meet their Millionaire Goal (2 million words read) - High School: 100% College Acceptance Each member of the organization plays a part in achieving these goals. School-based staff members will work towards 2 or 3 metrics that are aligned to both their individual roles AND the Big 5. These metrics vary by position and are subject to change. Role Mission Teaching Assistants (TAs) at Rocky Mountain Prep help foster a culture of learning by supporting the lead teacher with whole and small group instruction and day-to-day classroom duties. Our TAs develop meaningful relationships with scholars and families, support the recruitment and enrollment of scholars, and demonstrate a “by any means necessary” work ethic to ensure our scholars are receiving the support they deserve in a safe, rigorous, and loving environment. In this role, you will: Lunch/recess dutiesMorning duties/afternoon duties Materials prep, bulletin boards, copies, homework folders, homework packets Clean & organize classroom daily Support initial classroom set up and break down at the end of the school year Assist with bathroom breaks Assist with afternoon snack Support Attendance efforts Support with individual behavior plans Preparing instructional materials Assist with student instruction- leading or small group instruction (TBD with Lead Teacher) Care for students and assist with classroom management Communicate with parents about routine issues (work with the Lead teacher to communicate to parents) Commit to regular school hours and school calendar Attend and participate in all required pre-service training programs (both RMP and DPS required events) and staff development meetings Address specific student’s needs as identified by the teacher Communicate with teachers and administrators about performance and disciplinary issues Maintain the confidentiality of student information Comply with ECE program rules and regulations including State of Colorado licensing requirements for Child Care Centers Attend weekly check-in meeting with lead teacher to align together and create next steps based on current goals Perform other duties as required QualificationsRequired: Provide evidence of completing high school or a GED Pass a background check Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States Our benefits package includes: Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision) Disability Insurance Life Insurance Retirement through PERA Paid-Time-Off Salary $40,000 - $50,800 a year This is a full-time, in-person, benefits-eligible position with a salary of $35,000 to $50,250 per year and access to comprehensive benefits.
