Job Summary Leads and participates in the electronic hardware development of control and communication solutions that are second to none in the heat tracing controls industry. The successful candidate has a sound understanding of digital and analog circuit design, including mains voltages and small signal, schematic capture and layout as well as knowledge and understanding of isolation techniques, EMI mitigation, and industrial safety standards with proven abilities to deliver robust and maintainable hardware designs to market. As a member of the R&D Controls Group, you will be expected to continuously stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, embrace modern design architectures and best practices and deliver robusts hardware solutions. Responsibilities · Stimulate and develop ideas and concepts and convert them into design technologies · Champion electonic hardware development across business unit stakeholders and drive successful launches · Actively participates in team discussions to align and deliver quality products · Ensure that project activities are accurately documented and easily retrievable · Review, evaluate and establish priorities of hardware tasks · Drive products with an understanding and appreciation for the importance of safety and robustness Essential Competencies · Fearless and excited to expand hardware knowledge · Proven ability to quickly investigate, learn and deliver technical solutions · Proven ability to master new development tools and passion for learning · Be a self-starter and should be able to work independently with minimal supervision · Strong communication, documentation and presentation skills · Embraces an Atlassian tools workflow (JIRA, Confluence) · Understands how to effectively and efficiently implement/manage a hardware review process · Knowledgeable in communication protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, CANBus, USB, I2C, SPI, etc) Desired Competencies · Solid understanding and/or hands-on experience with ARM processors (Cortex-M, Cortex-A, etc) · Experience implementing wireless protocol technologies (BTLE4.0+, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, WirelessHART, etc) · Experience designing automated test fixtures for production test · Experience with schematic capture and layout in Altium Deisnger · Experience with a scripting languages (Python, Perl, JavaScript, etc) · Experience delivering embedded hardware solutions for OrdLoc and HazLoc areas Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or related field) or five years of related work experience Disclaimer Thermon Job Descriptions indicate in general terms the nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities and other essential functions required.
