Nidec Minster Corporation has an immediate opening for an Electrical Service Engineer. The primary role is to provide technical support to Minster customers and Field Service Technicians working in the field. This position acts as a liaison between Service, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and customers as required. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience maintaining metal forming and ancillary equipment or similar type machinery found in manufacturing facilities. Job Responsibilities: Provide technical and maintenance support to Minster's customers with their metal forming equipment and Field Service Technicians. Coordinate the commissioning of new and remanufactured metal forming equipment in customer's plants. Administrate software installed on service technician's laptops. Research, verify, acquire and administrate the specific control hardware/interface devices needed to service the customer equipment (Cables and adapters assigned for electrical servicemen's laptops. Provide advanced technical troubleshooting, field service diagnostics, and repair of control systems and components as assigned. As well as mentor service technicians on press PLC troubleshooting Develop reference and training material for new control components and system to be available for Customer Service support. Provide introduction and training for customers and Customer Service personnel on setup and operation of control systems and components as may be required. Assist with the remote setup, calibration and operation of custom controls and equipment integration as may be assigned. This may be during initial set up at Minster and/or at customer site. Via TeamViewer. Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to determine software and hardware requirements to support controls and components and provide training on its use. Act as liaison between Service, Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers to provide feedback on problems encountered during initial commission and/or start up. Works directly with CFG electrical engineering with required program updates, print updates and program troubleshooting for new installs and currently installed presses. Asist the Application Specialist on defining the scope of electrical control upgrades and provide specific feedback of the changes needed to correct or improve those. Administrate the exception code on the new equipment startups (NES) and provide a report of the existing codes status. Assist the electrical design department debugging the installed servo presses by providing specific feedback on operational issues and troubleshooting reports to them. Coordinate and lead customer service projects from start to finish, which includes duties such as: Complete work orders. Coordinate all needed documentation such as prints, service manuals, service forms, etc. Coordinate with engineering, sales, and operations staff as needed. Customer follow up as needed. Audit field service reports and resolve issues with the project. Provide assistance to all service functions such as parts order activity, remanufacturing activity, etc. Work flexible hours to support customer service needs. Occasional travel to customer locations will be required. Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; Electrical Engineering preferred; Bachelor degree preferred. Specific knowledge of Minster equipment is preferred, and general knowledge of metal stamping equipment required. Blueprint and schematic reading and comprehension required. Extensive knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting and installation techniques. Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi), VFD drives, HMI's, Ether-net, etc. Knowledge of performing mechanical press repair and/or mechanical knowledge of machinery repair found in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to trouble shoot mechanical issues. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Represent Nidec Minster Corporation effectively in business and social situations as may be required. Project management skills are essential. Able to work effectively with minimum supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is preferred.
