This includes equipment modifications and upgrades as well as for plant equipment expansions. This position is on a team that participates in on-call rotation for 24/7 coverage with opportunities for a flexible work schedule including off-shift. RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibility is to evaluate existing instrumentation and control designs and processes to improve accuracy, reliability, and calibration records. Specific responsibilities include: Provides hands on assistance to plant personnel with trouble shooting instrumentation problems, including system calibration. Performs general instrument/electrical maintenance under the direction of the maintenance manager, including electronic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation and accurately calibrating meters and transmitters. Monitors plant instrumentation for proper operation and calibration, seeks improvement recommendations from internal departments, and makes efficiency recommendations to maintenance and operations as identified. Collaborates with production, sourcing, and maintenance personnel in the improvement and/or optimization of plant instrumentation including system monitoring for production performance. Proposes instrumentation maintenance schedules and tasks to maintain efficacy and reliability of instruments. Working with the Maintenance department, maintains current instrumentation and parameter drawings and database. Demonstrates proficiency with process control software used for tuning P&ID loops. Solid understanding of Allen Bradley VFD's and Soft Starts REQUIREMENTS to help ensure success include: To qualify for this position, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the desired job outcomes. Specific requirements include: Technical school certificate/degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or related field or ability to test out of by proving competency of program material Understanding of NFPA 70E and Arc Flash Hazards Three to five years' experience preferred in overall industrial maintenance; 1-3 years required . Demonstrate knowledge and experience in instrumentation, electrical systems, and maintenance Ability to read and interpret equipment wiring diagrams, and piping and instrument diagrams Developed computer skills needed for calibration programs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Knowledge of CMMS and Digital Control systems. Experience with various Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills required to liaise with internal project teams and external vendors Organization skills along with written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Ability to work in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures Ability to take field measurements to verify new installation or modifications Excellent working knowledge of state and local electrical codes Experience in the design and layout of new electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot all types of electrical issues from 480V motor testing to 24 VDC control wiring Knowledge of Ethernet, DeviceNet, and ControlNet Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors Must be able to work in environmental factors that include noise, dust, hot weather, and cold weather. Must be able to lift 55 pounds. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and gangways on a frequent basis and be able to work while standing on a continuous basis. Ability to safely work aloft (heights over 20') including ladders, man lifts, harnesses, equipment tops and scaffolding. Ability to enter confined spaces, following all safety procedures, while in performance of job duties. Must be able to communicate by using and hearing 2-way radio. Have dexterity and ability to maneuver equipment in tight working spaces.
