Electrical Engineering Supervisor

Reporting to - Systems, Engineering and Build Manager As the Electrical Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and managing projects related to electric powertrain test systems, estimating what is required to complete them, supervising the electrical engineering team as they work, offering guidance as needed, and coordinating with other teams. Essential Duties &Responsibilities: Full cycle supervision of the Electrical Engineering Team, whose essential duties and responsibilities include: Generate electrical controls schematics, panel layouts and bill of materials for testing systems. Integrating 3rd party auxiliary systems into the test cell controls. Generate cable/wire pull sheets for connecting components. Generate final "as built" drawings for delivery to the customer at the end of the project. Working with the controls, software and mechanical teams to select hardware and software essential to the system. Working with the project management team to coordinate timing, purchasing and builds. Working with the build teams, install and commissioning teams to build and sign off test systems. Provide electrical engineering support for our in-house testing group and service group. Assist the sales group as needed in the quoting process. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Candidate must be able to supervise a team, with members of varying skill and experience levels, and to direct that team toward established team goals. Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably electrical) with 5+ years related experience, required. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding electrical engineering design and machine safety, required. Knowledge of VFD drives and VFD drive systems is preferred. Working knowledge of electrical controls components. Familiar with AutoCAD for checking schematics and control panel layouts. Basic understanding of business acumen in relation to scope and budget. Fluent in English language. Able to solve problems quickly and work within a team. Customer service driven. Assist in maintaining and supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity, Expertise, and Innovation). Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.). Required on-site a minimum of 3 days per week. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for occasional travel between locations. A valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%. Give and accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect. Consistently adhere to, and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Physical Demands: Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise. Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties.
