Position Summary As an Electrical Designer your role will be to support development of raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and updating using Setroute, conduit and raceway design. Responsible to produce lower and higher tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope, modelling, including cable pull calculations, design of lighting using AGi32, grounding layout, grounding designs, and lightning protection systems. This role will be based in Knoxville, TN, with periodic business travel required. Responsibilities Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway). Responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and updating, conduit and aboveground raceway design. Works under the direction of Engineering Group Supervisor. Responsible to produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems. Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts and procedures. Must have proven 2D CADD skills. Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database. Responsibilities also include ensuring that the electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations and standards. May interface with Construction and Subcontractors. Must be able to effectively communicate, and work well with others and within a team. Must be able to work well with other disciplines. Must know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft Windows suite of programs. Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications AA/AS degree with 3 years of related design experience; or in lieu of degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and 7 years of related design experience. US citizenhip required. Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance. Minimum Qualifications Hands-on Microsoft Office programs and other computer programs. Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards. Knowledge of raceway and electrical equipment layouts. Working knowledge industry-wide design tools, such as CAD 2D, cable designing and routing software. Experience with an electronic Cable Management System and be able to input and complete corrections to the database. Must be able to effectively communicate, and work well with others and within a team. Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines. Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. Excellent oral & written communications skills. Preferred Qualifications Proven 2D CADD skills. Experience using in a 3D electrical model design platform. Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections in the database. Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects. Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPS).
