Position Overview: MNL is a full-service ecological restoration company. We provide decades of experience, knowledge, industry leadership and a variety of services. Our services range from backyard native seeding to large-scale restoration, bioengineering and everything in between. MNL's products division grows premium, local origin native grass, sedge and wildflower seed for use on a broad range of restoration projects. The 3 production farms in Foley, Glyndon, and Lonsdale combined grow over 175 species of native plants for seed. Our farms are where a griculture and conservation converge . We utilize traditional farming practices combined with modifications made through our experience to grow and harvest the next generation of seeds to be used to Heal the Earth. The Ecological Operator, Products is responsible for equipment operation and maintenance, while also assisting with all aspects of native seed production and farm operations including but not limited to planting, spraying, weed control, prescribed burning, harvesting and seed cleaning. This position is based out of our Foley, MN location. This is a full-time position with seasonal variability. Longer days and/or weekend work may be expected during the growing or harvest seasons. There is some flexibility with this that can be discussed during your interview. Duties and Responsibilities: Operates a variety of equipment, which includes agricultural tractors, skid-loaders, combine s , mowers, among other equipment used for seed production. Conduct s general farm equipment maintenance . Assist s with the fabrication and modification of equipment. Performs daily upkeep of small equipment used for seed production. Assists with both mechanical and hand field work, which includes planting, weed control, harvesting , prescribed burning, and seed cleaning. Completes documentation of maintenance and other work activities as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Must have several years agricultural experience, which includes farm equipment operation and maintenance. Experience with herbicide handling and application preferred but not necessary. Able to work independently, as well as part of a team. Must be mechanically inclined. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred. P assion for the company's mission to Heal the Earth. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach and move as needed in order to complete various agricultural/seed production duties. Prolonged periods of time standing. Able to work long hours, including early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends; work hours may vary depending on the season. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold. This job description is intended to describe the general nature of this job.
