1,000 Sign on Bonus Early Head Start Home Based Teacher-Kosciusko County Make weekly home visits and provide developmentally appropriate, stimulating experience for the children that will encourage each to develop a positive self-concept and develop social and intellectual skills. Must prepare educational materials and lesson plans for the students, observe and record student development, protect the health and well-being of the children, and plan and conduct parent-teacher meetings. Primary Responsibilities: Provide home visits (or virtual visits as required/allowed) that deliver comprehensive Early Head Start services, including social, emotional, physical and cognitive development services to expectant parents and families with infants and toddlers. Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits for each child on a caseload and reschedule missed visits to meet requirements. Use Parents as Teachers Curriculum to plan and present child development activities during home visits and assist parents in developing ways of using the home as a learning environment. Serve pre-natal moms per performance standards and program policy. Conduct timely screening and ongoing assessment of young children's development and enter data into online program. Provide education and support services to families with a focus on School Readiness Goals, recognizing parents as their children's first and most important teachers. Individualize for children based on development. Collaborate with families to establish family development goals and document the process through family partnership agreements. Promote parental involvement in curriculum planning, program governances, and the Early Head Start program. Monitor and educate parents with respect to children's health status, including medical follow-up, physical health, dental health, mental health and nutritional intake. Provide resource and referral services to families. Attend and facilitate group socialization experiences and other family group activities. Act as liaison and advocate between community resources and Early Head Start families. Transport or arrange for transportation for families when appropriate to and from community resources or other activities. Complete documentation of home visits, socialization experiences, and other relevant activities, Maintain confidentiality of family records and information. Participate in reflective supervision and Practice Based Coaching activities with supervisor.Requirements: Teachers must have a bachelor's or associate degree in early childhood or a related degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience working with children ages 0-3. This position requires a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
