DUAL OR SINGLE LICENSE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC AJAX The Dual or Single License Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of processing packaging equipment to ensure ongoing, cost-effective operations, in a continuous operations, multi-shift environment. Assist with the repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic components when required. ACCOUNTABILITIES • Repair and maintain packaging equipment and high-speed PLC-controlled equipment • Repair and maintain processing and material handling equipment • Carry out requirements of Preventative Maintenance programs • Perform facility repairs as required • Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and complies with applicable industry standards • Repair, upgrade, and install electronic controls and equipment • Program and modify PLCs • Train other mechanics in electronic controls • Assist equipment operators to improve line efficiency QUALIFICATIONS • Millwright License (433A) required / Industrial Electrician License (442A) an asset. • Preference is given to candidates with previous experience in a food manufacturing environment • 3-5 years experience in repair and overhaul, troubleshooting of processing, packaging, and material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment • Familiarity with the following equipment an asset: IMA, Mespic, Hayssen • Troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems • Able to take direction, both verbal and written, and communicate effectively • Electronic and analytical aptitude • Must have demonstrated a history of safe work habits • Ability to bend frequently and lift heavy equipment as required • Able to work under pressure OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION • Weekly MAD Rotation (Midnight 11:00PM-7:30AM / Afternoon 3:00PM-11:30PM / Day 7:00AM-3:30PM) • Reports to the Maintenance Manager Job Posted by Applicant Pro.
