Role: Technician Salary: Academy Support Scale 3, Point 7-10, (£27,389 – £28,589 pro-rated to £23,953 - £25,003) Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time only (39 weeks) Part time and full time hours are available. Working Hours: 36 hours per week Reporting to: The Head of the Design and Technology Department The main purpose of the job will be as follows: The Design and Technology Technician is required to take on a varied support role including supporting across the full range of subjects offered. Personal Duties: To assist with the setting up of Technology resources across the Department (Resistant Materials, Textiles, Food Technology and Art), as required. Preparing apparatus, materials and solutions and setting up equipment and apparatus for use in practical classes and / or examinations / backssments across the department. To support teachers across the Department during classes and clubs, both during and after the school day. To ensure all rooms after lessons are clean and tidy and ready for the next lesson. To assist the Head of Department with maintaining material stocks for the department, ensuring forthcoming pupil needs are met. To assist with the update of the equipment stock list register, and ensure that all equipment is maintained and serviced on a timely basis To continuously develop your own practice, taking responsibility for identifying and addressing your own training and development needs. In carrying out the tasks in this job description you have a duty (under Health & Safety legislation) to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others.
