A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Domestic Violence Advocate Reporting to the Domestic Violence Supervisor, the Advocate will promote Increased Safety Through Equity. Advocate will address the lack of safety experienced by domestic violence and sexual assault Latinx survivors and the gap in equity they face to seeking and receiving support. Advocate will ensure all services are provided in a holistic and culturally sensitive process, thereby promoting the dignity, respect, safety and optimal functioning of the individual. Advocate will focus on supporting Latinx survivors' safety and equity through education and Advocate will provide Latinx survivors with education and assistance about available resources; education about the legal rights of both citizens and non-citizens; community and legal advocacy; and support groups. Advocate will design n ew Women's Wellness support group Advocate will work directly with first responders to help t he m understand the background and culture of Latinx immigrants from a variety of Latin American countries. Advocate will conduct public awareness activities for the greater Seattle community and Latinx survivors. Advocates for Community Referrals Provide Community Advocacy Services to domestic violence survivors and their children. QUALIFICATIONS: A.A., BA Preferred Must have 2+ year's experience with domestic violence services. Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) Proficient in speaking, reading and writing both English and Spanish Access to reliable transportation, a valid Washington State Driver's license and car insurance are required. Valid care insurance Lifting requirements up to 25lbs Complete required training upon hire and/or provide certification of past completion. Other duties as assigned. WORK SCHEDULE This full-time Domestic Violence Equity Advocate works a typical schedule of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday .
