Divisional Controller As the largest privately-owned food service distributor in the Midwest, we are looking to add a Divisional Controller to the team. This position will direct and guide the overall accounting and finance functions of the division. Establish and maintain the division's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Prepare financial reports and present findings and recommendations to top management. Plan and analyze budget and cost statistics for internal control use. Also responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which will increase operating results of the division. This position will primarily focus on managing a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develop major goals to support broad corporate objectives. Approve policies developed within various sub-departments and possess a comprehensive knowledge of the overall divisional finance operations. Primary Duties: Directs and/or supervises staff to ensure adherence to GAAP, strong internal controls, and adherence with company policies and procedures. Prepares weekly and monthly financial reports, including analyzing budget vs. actual results and reviewing them with management. Identify opportunities to increase earnings utilizing available technologies to conduct detailed profitability analytics. Evaluate employee's performance and identify developmental opportunities for growth. Partner and effectively collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams. Participates in or handles special projects as needed. Experience & Qualifications: Minimum bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required. (or equivalent in related field). Master's degree in business or CPA certification preferred. Advanced computer skills required with an emphasis on strong Excel skills. Attention to detail is essential. Strong organizational skills required. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone and email required.
