Maryland Environmental Service is seeking a Division Chief to join our Solid Waste Operations team, located at our Headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. This position serves as the manager of large, multiple-task solid waste project sites and contracts in the Environmental Operations Group. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team that provides environmental solutions to the public and private sectors throughout the State of Maryland.Responsibilities include providing comprehensive solid waste management planning, facilities engineering, capital improvements design, steam plant operations, systems operation, site oversight, project site maintenance and business development activities. Required qualifications include : Bachelors Degree in related field plus 9 years of experience; 5 of which included supervisory responsibilities in any of the following fields: environmental, engineering, marine, solid waste, maintenance or related project management activities. Comprehensive knowledge of environmental practices, regulatory issues and programs, facilities management, safety and marine activities will be required for appointment to some sites. Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points. Preferred qualifications include : SWANA Certifications for landfill and composting operations and/or the ability to acquire same, as well as experience in the steam plant operations industry.
