About George Junior Republic: Established in 1909, George Junior Republic is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship, and a better understanding of his responsibility to society, his family and himself. Position Overview: The Dispatch and Communication Operator operates the phone system, directs visitors, answers questions for various constituents, and organizes and distributes mail. This candidates will also operate FM band radio to direct Campus Supervisors to emergencies or tasks that require their attention, maintain a log of significant occurrences regarding staff or students, conduct emergency counts when needed, and distribute vehicle keys. In addition, the Dispatch and Communication operator will maintain an accurate roster of students on vacation, hospital placements, absconders and students not attending school, as well as record counts for staff. Requirements: - Must be able to lift 10 pounds. - Must be able to walk, s toop and sit for long periods of time - Able to learn to use a phone system, computer, postage machine, FM handheld radio, and copier - Must be able to work a schedule of Wednesday through Sunday 12:00AM - 8:00AM.
