A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT As a Director of Revenue Cycle Management, you will oversee revenue activities, organize strategies to increase profitability, and meet financial objectives for the Agency. Develops, adapts, or revises the revenue cycle management (RCM) system to meet the needs of the Agency. Determining the basic characteristics of the RCM system along with devising and preparing reports to meet management's needs for data. Proposing basic RCM policies, interpretations, and procedures. Supports and oversees implementation of new features in EHR; collaborates with IT teams on implementation of EHR enhancements and other Revenue Cycle initiatives. Creates policies and procedures to enhance and streamline billing, payment posting, and claims resolution, ensuring timely and accurate billing and follow-up and reduction in outstanding receivables. Maintains strong understanding of revenue cycle metrics, mentors and leads team in building plans to support operational departments to achieve best practice performance through strong analytical capabilities, process improvement identification, and technology enhancements. Responsible for oversight of credentialing process. Assumes responsibility for analyzing existing payer agreements for appropriate reimbursement and initiating prioritized contract renegotiations with payers when appropriate. Work with Credentialing Specialist to assist with payer contracting and related negotiations. Responsible for oversight of front-end workflows. This includes registration, scheduling, referral management, co-pay collection, self-pay collection, systems set up and issues. Assists the Director of Finance in preparing monthly financial statements, by running accounts receivable reports out of billing software. Develops KPIs and dashboard reports to monitor and benchmark RCM performance. Set internal goals for KPI metrics. Prepare and distribute monthly and KPI reports to Senior Management, flagging performance metrics that are lagging benchmarks or internal goals. Serves as the subject-matter expert on regulatory, compliance, and legal requirements associated with medical billing and CMS. Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and directives from regulatory agencies and third-party payers. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field required; will consider experience in lieu of education. Master's degree a plus. NextGen and/or Waystar experience a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel. Are you detail-oriented and efficient with your time?
