WHO WE AREAbove and Beyond is a licensed Level I and Level II outpatient addiction treatment facility located on the West side of Chicago. We are a not-for-profit 501C3 corporation, with private funding to ensure that no one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.Our focus is serving Chicago's community of the disenfranchised with a long history of unemployment and substance abuse impacting both the family and the community at large. In the spirit of utilizing often ignored rich community resources, our facility was built by an artist/builder using repurposed materials to create a unique, eclectic, modern industrial space which includes original furniture pieces and art. We believe that the discarded still retains value and can be transformed into something useful and beautiful, much in the same way that our clients lives can be transformed. Our goal is to offer a place that evokes order and pride in the people we serve.Clinical services are provided in-group and individual settings by certified counselors and licensed clinicians. We have assembled a handpicked team of creative thinkers who are also solidly grounded in traditional addiction therapy techniques.DIRECTOR OF MAJOR GIFTSThis position is responsible for providing a steady, sustained inflow of grant and donated funding, services, and goods that arrive from a balanced roster of donors which include significant representation from: High-net worth private donors, corporations, government and foundational grants, institutions, state and local giving entities, events, and grass roots campaigns. The Director of Major Gifts is responsible for designing and executing a systematic donor outreach plan and corresponding process(es) in collaboration with the CEO, President and Board of Directors. . These job requirements may change, according to the needs of the organization and the strategies of the CEO or President so a high degree of flexibility will be necessary in the execution and administration of this role.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Director of Major Gifts is expected to be proficient at creating compelling presentations for different types of donors, and to personally represent Above and Beyond impressively:Will establish and report on all new, qualified significant donor sources per week, from a balance of source stream potentials. Will establish a regular, well-rounded scheduled and publicly calendared series of meetings which represent a wide spectrum of donation sources.Must develop and maintain as current, a verifiable bi-weekly Google calendar of all appointments so that all personnel that interact with the Director can be aware of activities.A database of contacts must be developed and maintained from the start of employment which captures donor and potential donor names, addresses, phones, emails as well as abbreviated but accurate detail regarding visits, meetings, mailings, attempted meetings, and phone conversations.Will be responsible for the Annual Fundraising Gala in an oversight role to make certain that all positions are filled, and steps are being taken according to the timeline that the Director has developed, with the participation and approval of the CEO or President and Board of Directors.Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred Minimum of 5 years major gifts and/or planned giving experience CRM experience Verifiable major donor account management Verifiable wins of major gifts from individuals and other funding sources.
