Job Responsibilities Manages the overall information systems function of the organization, including systems and programming procedures and computer equipment operations. Provides input to the strategic direction of Information Technology, directly influencing the business direction in new and existing products and systems as well as integration efforts with new acquisitions. Coordinates the integration of office operations and information systems. Acts as a liaison between users and customers with Information Technology staff to ensure goals are met. Builds and develops Information Technology organization, processes and procedures to support business needs. Ensures continuity of computer services for computer users throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership, and project coordination. Coaches and directs staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental goals, objectives and budget. Ensures customer and user needs are prioritized and effective solutions are created and implemented. Evaluates studies of the economics of possible alternative methods of processing. Essential Functions 1. Recommends and plans information technology to support and meet company objectives based on research and evaluation. Ensures consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions. 2. Directs implementation and execution of new and upgraded information systems. Coordinates documentation of procedures, establishing deadlines and determining overall accountability. 3. Develops configuration and performance standards for network. Ensures network is up and running at all times with appropriate back-up measures. Implements and monitors controls to ensure standard objectives are met. Coaches network staff to create tracking and reporting to evaluate internal and external needs. 4. Ensures continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination. Works with staff to capture, monitor and analyze computer usage and data. Recommends and implements policies, software and hardware to provide maximum resource utilization in a cost-effective manner. 5. Leads and directs personnel functions such as selection, hiring, developing and training of new and existing employees, employee review and development planning as well as handling salary administration for all employees. Ensures staff meets continuing education requirements. 6. Evaluates external advancements in the Information Technology industry to improve customer/user satisfaction, reduce operating expenses and maximize revenues. Keeps management abreast of current initiatives and projects, performance against planned objectives and future strategic directions and associated impact on expenses. May negotiate and administer vendors and consultant contracts and service agreements. 7. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required. Job Requirements College degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent, plus 2-4 years experience in management or related field. Background in innovative software development methodologies, preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, organizational, training, and PC skills are required. Experience in Local and Wide Area Networks, a plus. Must have ability to anticipate and solve problems and resolve issues. Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality. Limited travel required. Why EFCO?
