Duties and Responsibilities Develop comprehensive audit plans and strategies to ensure effective coverage of financial statements and related processes. Collaborate with executive management to align audit objectives with organizational goals and risk management strategies. Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential areas of financial risk. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to strengthen internal controls. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Oversee the execution of financial audits, including substantive testing, analytical procedures, and compliance testing. Review audit workpapers and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with other departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to address cross-functional financial issues and promote a culture of financial accountability. Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and risks to executive management and relevant stakeholders. Prepare and present clear and concise audit reports to the Audit Committee and other governance bodies. Evaluate and enhance audit methodologies, processes, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to audit procedures. Perform other duties, as assigned. Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance required. CPA or MBA a plus 6+ years of strong accounting experience with a demonstrated progression of responsibility required, ideally in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company. Property and Casualty Insurance Industry experience required. Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Deep understanding of the P&C insurance industry. Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to think critically and objectively. Ability to adapt to changing regulations, technologies and business environments. Proven people leadership skills in a results-driven environment. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively. Solid working proficiencies of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization. Proficient in other MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Desire to live Slide's Core Values.
