Summary The Director of Communications will lead internal and external communications strategy and execution at JERA Americas. The Director will lead efforts to build a robust internal communication effort which supports the Leadership Team’s efforts to insure employees understand the Corporate Strategy and the initiatives needed to execute on that strategy. In addition, the Director will work with Human Resources to develop a communication program for employee benefits and recruiting. The Director will also build an external communication strategy in close collaboration with JERA. This role will be crucial as JERA builds out its Global message. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in both internal and external communications. The candidate will have strong verbal and written skills and whose style is one of collaboration. Position Description Work with JERA Americas Leadership to build an internal communications strategy and cadence to keep employees informed of key initiatives and events. The strategy developed should be inclusive and foster an environment that lives up to JERA’s SHAPE values. Work closely with Human Resources to ensure communication of matters of importance to employees (e.g., Benefits) and develop recruiting material and messages. Work with the Leadership team, JERA corporate and consultants to build an external communications strategy. The external communications strategy will be created in close collaboration with the JERA Tokyo team. Serve as JERA America’s spokesperson. Coordinate JERA Americas presence at Conferences and Charitable events. Qualifications Required Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree. A minimum of 10 years in corporate communications or with an Energy Trade Association. In-depth knowledge of and experience with the Media. Experience with Energy issues is preferable. Preferred Education and Experience BA in Communications or a related field.
