Wolfforth Methodist Church is a growing church in the southwest Lubbock, Texas area. We are seeking an energetic person who loves Jesus, is a team player, and has a calling to minister to children and their parents. Position Title: Director of Childrens Ministry Reports To: Senior Pastor Status: Full-Time Primary Purpose: The Director of Childrens Ministry at Wolfforth Methodist Church is responsible for extending the Kingdom of God through leadership in the ministry of the church by nurturing childrens faith and leading them to become maturing disciples of Jesus Christ. Ministry Responsibilities: Lead and sustain a volunteer childrens ministry team, which consists of all volunteers in the childrens ministry. Recruit, train, equip, schedule, and oversee volunteers for the childrens ministry team. Meet with volunteers weekly on Sunday mornings. Lead the childrens ministry team to provide a teaching ministry during the Sunday school hour. Ensure teachers are equipped and supported with curriculum, additional volunteers, and training. Lead the childrens ministry team to provide a weekly childrens church experience (Rooted). Intentionally connect with parents and support them to nurture their children in the church and to lead them to faith in Jesus. Work as a team player with the Nursery Director, PDO Director, and After-school Care Director to provide a safe, coordinated, effective childrens ministry. Learn, enforce, and maintain our safe sanctuary safety policies and diligently maintain a safe environment for the children. Do this alongside all staff members who work with underage persons (Student Ministry Director, Nursery Director, Parents' Day Out Director, and After-school Care Director.) In conjunction with the Sr. Pastor, research and implement new and innovative ideas (programming and curriculum) for children's ministry. Ensure that the childrens ministry is aligned with and supports the vision and ministry of Wolfforth Methodist Church. Be a team player with all Wolfforth Methodist Church staff to fulfill our shared mission. Other duties as required by the position and assigned by the Senior Pastor.
