Working Title: Director of Athletics Facilities and Events ManagementBrief Summary of Job DescriptionThis position will oversee and support all aspects of management of athletics facilities and events while supporting game day operations for home sports events, as well as scheduling athletic facilities, building and overseeing an event management team of interns; maintaining facilities and grounds in coordination with University Facilities Management by submitting work orders, monitoring progress on repairs, facility upgrades and new construction; acting as a liaison between facilities and coaches and staff. This individual will develop short and long term maintenance plans and sustain an up to date facility master plan. This person will also submit bids for conference and NCAA Championships and other external entities. The Director of Athletics Facilities and Event Management will be responsible for soliciting and facilitating requests from outside entities to use the athletics facilities. This individual will also assist in the management of summer camps and clinics planning and scheduling while reporting to the Athletic Director. Managing the daily operation of athletic facilities and home athletic events will be the primary duties of this position; however this individual will be vital for outside events & non collegiate-athletic events hosted by UNK.Job DutiesManage the daily operation of all athletic facilities and home athletic events: Handle the set-up, tear down and game operations for all home contests, contact visiting teams and officials prior to home events, communicate with maintenance, custodial, grounds and police and parking crews, manage scheduling of practice and game times and any other duties assigned by Athletic Director; Assist with maintenance and inventory/security of all athletic equipment associated with facilities, events and community programs; Supervise interns, student, part time and volunteer staff within the facilities and events organizational structure; Act as an event manager for select UNK Intercollegiate Athletic, Kearney High and campus events: Also available for special events NSAA Championships Cross Country, NSAA Wrestling Duals, NSAA Speech, Mr. and Ms. Basketball Tournaments, Shiner All Star Game and other special events hosted by the City of Kearney at UNK; Assist with Intercollegiate Athletics and campus events to include: Post-season conference and NCAA tournaments hosted by UNK; Lead all facility renovations in conjunction with the Senior Associate or Director of Athletics in conjunction with the Universitys Facility Staff and Office Of Business and Finance; Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.Schedule 40-60 hours/week.Desired Start Date 02/03/2020.Is this position temporary?
