The Director, Human Resources provides consultation and leadership in developing a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the College's objectives. The HR Director effectively plans, develops, and executes human resource-related initiatives that support organizational strategic goals, provides oversight of the Office of Human Resources, and has responsibility for strategic human resource planning, talent management, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, organizational development, compliance, policy development and risk management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Solid knowledge and understanding of all aspects of human resources principles, practices, procedures, and documentation. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment regulations (i.e. FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPPA, etc.). Functional knowledge of finance, budgeting and operational aspects of business. Functional knowledge of Human Resources information systems. Proven success in leading teams, building partnerships and facilitating complex change. Strong organizational skills necessary for prioritizing multiple demands and project management responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to translate vision and strategy into actionable goals. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration or related degree and seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive human resources experience, OR- A master's degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration or related degree and five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive human resources experience. Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Compensation Professional (CCP), and/or Benefits Professional (CEBS) certification preferred. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This role is required to be on-site at least 3-4 days per week. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.
