Hiring Details: Primary Manager: VP & Chief Financial Officer, Scotia Global Asset Management Direct Reports: Sr. Manager, Finance (3-4 direct reports) Job Purpose: The Director , Financial Planning and Analysis - Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM) is responsible for providing in-depth financial analysis to support Scotia Global Asset Management’s financial reporting requirements – including but not limited to – Annal Profit Plan, Strategic Plan, Forecasting, and providing ongoing financial reporting on Balance Sheet and P&L views and profitability insights to the business. This includes applying analytics to develop and enhance the financial intelligence capabilities of SGAM Finance around planning and forecasting, financial analysis, regulatory changes, financial methodology, and strategic planning. This role has the responsibility for all FP&A responsibilities to the Business – Scotia Global Asset Management - supporting both the Asset Manager (2nd largest bank owned asset manager) and SSI Distribution Dealer (MFDA dealer) - to provide analysis, support and counsel to business line management related to financial management of the division’s profitability. The role leverages a strong understanding of products and business models to provide value-add recommendations to management. SGAM Finance conducts financial reviews / investigations of strategic business initiatives including new acquisitions / products / markets with a view to profitability and accounting issues. SGAM Finance develops strategic relationships and alliances with key contacts, business partners (EO groups and other divisional CFOs) and stakeholders (Business line heads, Executive Management) to deliver on mandate and provide value-added analysis and act as an advocate of the Scotia Global Asset Management business line.
