Job Overview The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking a visionary, passionate, and goal-oriented leader to serve as Director of Admissions for Recruitment and Outreach. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Admissions, the Director of Admissions for Recruitment and Outreach will develop, plan, and execute a strategic recruitment plan to advance enrollment opportunities for students at The University of Cincinnati campus locations (UC Uptown). The Director of Admissions, in partnership with academic colleges, campus partners, and the admissions senior leadership team, will work to ensure the university’s strategic recruitment plan builds affinity among prospective students and drives enrollment. The Director of Admissions for Recruitment and Outreach will be integral in developing a plan to execute the University of Cincinnati’s anticipated growth to 60,000 students by 2030. The Director of Admissions for Recruitment and Outreach will directly supervise local, national, and regional recruitment initiatives in addition to the community outreach and access and strategic initiatives team which is approximately 25 professional staff members. The Director of Admissions will serve on the admissions senior leadership team and is expected to stay current with emerging technology, trends, and best practice strategies in the admissions and enrollment management field. Essential Functions Responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of admissions programs; formulate, recommend, approve, and implement internal procedures and controls; set goals to achieve strategic objectives; assume management responsibility for a wide range of enrollment projects and programs. Responsible for collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units and participating in cross-functional policy development and execution that enrich the student experience; formulate, approve, and communicate major policy changes affecting other departments with the authority to grant exceptions. Develop, implement, and monitor department budget; authority for budget, revenue, and expense planning and approving expenditure; has signature authority for programs or functions within their department; oversees the budget and reports on budget status to AVP level. Prepare reports and assessments, interpret, and disseminate information, provide advice, write proposals, deliver presentations, construct contractual agreements, and ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state, and federal regulations. May communicate and assist students, parents, and corporate partners in resolving questions and complex issues; represent the university internally and externally. Monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. Serve on various university, division, and departmental committees, and represent the department at various state and national associations. Keep abreast of current trends in admissions. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Perform related duties based on departmental needs. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree Required Experience Seven (7) years of admissions experience. Previous supervisory experience. Additional Qualifications Considered Master’s Degree. Experience with Slate or other relevant CRM tools.
