Support adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to live life to its fullest. This position offers: Starting wage $15 per hour with increase possible based on relevant IDD experience. Potential to earn an additional $2 per hour shift differential for awake overnights and weekends. Full-Time, Part-Time & Flexible schedules - 2nd & 3rd shifts including weekend hours. Locations in Bloomsburg, Catawissa, Lewisburg, Middleburg, Selinsgrove and Shamokin Dam, PA . You will be part of a team of coworkers trained and working across a group of community homes. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will build relationships with adults with an intellectual and/or developmental disability and provide support to them where they live and work as well as in other community settings. The scope of work is determined by the needs and desires of the individual you are supporting in order to promote emotional, physical and personal well-being. In this caregiver role you will: Assist adults in the development of skills necessary to reach their highest level of potential in areas of communication and social interaction, cooking, money management, personal hygiene and grooming, medication administration, housekeeping, etc. Support the individuals' preferences and ensure their interests are honored. Actively search for opportunities for those you serve to experience life in their homes and communities based on their hobbies and interests. Cultivate individuals' engagement in social networks and communities. Support individuals to achieve goals and increase independence by teaching skills, offering guidance, and role modeling.
