Exemption Status : Non-Exempt Supervisor's Title : Director of Dining Services Department : Dining Services Remote Eligible : No Purpose of the Job : Provide a pleasant meal experience for our assisted living and memory care while serving food and beverages. Prepare dining room for meals and clean up dining services areas after meals. Financial Responsibility : Minor damage or loss is possible, but unlikely, if duties are performed with reasonable care. Responsibility for Contacts : Position involves communication with individuals inside and/or outside the Company including direct contact with residents where the nature of the information provided usually follows an established pattern. Such communication requires only normal courtesy. Equipment : General kitchen appliances (large and small) including, but not limited to, dishwasher, coffee machine, iced tea and juice machines, ice machine, can opener, knives (if 18 years or older), etc. Complexity of Work : Semi-routine work requiring some improvision on isolated practices and procedures. Complexity of Supervision : Work performed under defined and uniform procedures. Responsibilities and Tasks: Essential Job Responsibilities 1. Consistent and predictable attendance. 2. Support and adhere to the policies, procedures, and provisions of the community's dining services programs. a. Ensure resident's menu selection is correct and serve plated food. b. Ensure beverages are at appropriate levels throughout the meal. 3. Clean dining rooms and service areas after each meal. Store all equipment. Clean kitchen equipment, appliances, floors, food storage areas, refrigerator, freezer and sinks according to schedule. Stack, soak, and run dishwasher. Put clean dishes, pots, pans, etc. in appropriate storage place. IF UNDER 18, the employee is not to clean or put away kitchen knives. 4. Become familiar with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all cleaning supplies. Attend training as required. 5. Attend training as required as well as complete all Relias training as scheduled. Supervisory Responsibility : None Policy-Setting Responsibilities : No formal responsibility. Policies associated with the job's purpose and essential responsibilities are set by others. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Information Required for Completely Satisfactory Performance: Knowledge of principles for providing customer services including assessments of customer needs and meeting quality standards for services. Ability to give full attention to what residents are saying, taking time to understand, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting. Understanding of proper table settings for each meal. Must be willing and have ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Education and Licenses : Requires the ability to read and write and to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Equivalent to 2 years of U.S. high school education. Experience : 0 to 3 months in the hospitality industry, fast food, or related field. Special Requirements: Must have ability to communicate as per section 22VAC40-73-110. Must be considerate and accepting of the aged, frail and disabled person. Appropriate attire and good personal hygiene are expected. Must comply with and implement all Company Policies and Procedures as well as the Employee Handbook. Must support and promote the "Rights and Responsibilities of Residents of Adult Care Residences." Must maintain confidentiality with regard to residents, staff, and Company information. Must participate in training and in-service programs as required by the Company and/or applicable State's Standards including, but not limited to, OSHA required training, CPR, etc. Staff will not accept gratuities from resident, family members, vendors, or visitors.
