Dietician Full Time | 9:30 - 5 pm | NYS Pension & Retirement Plan ** Hourly pay rate up to $27.26/hour (depending on experience) ** Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing is a 5-Star Quality Rated Senior Care Community conveniently located in Albany County, NY. Requirements for a Shaker Place Dietician: Bachelor's degree in dietetics or nutrition NYS Certified Dietitian or Dietitian-Nutritionist American Diabetic Association (ADA) Registered Dietician Responsibilities for a Shaker Place Dietician: Assesses nutritional needs of residents by comparing dietary intake against standards for nutrition of normal individuals. Assesses nutritional needs of seniors and the elderly and prepares a dietary plan for programs such as 'Wheel on Meals' and congregate dining facilities for the elderly. Assesses and provides for the nutrient need of residents as affected by medical regimens, drug therapy, physical limitation, etc. Develops dietary plan for providing nutritional care to residents. Confers with food services personnel, physicians, and nurses relative to the nutritional plan for residents. Implements a monitoring system to determine need for adjusting the patients care plan. Counsels' residents and families regarding therapeutic diets and normal nutrition. Provides direction and guidance to the food service component of the dietetic services so that foods served are satisfying to the residents and the preparation and service methods retain nutrients. Works with facility personnel to ensure that assistance is afforded to the residents needing help with eating.
