Our client is a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor specialising in delivering high: profile construction projects in and around Leeds, operating on multiple National Frameworks. Position Overview: They are searching for a Design Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design process for significant schemes, ensuring that designs meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the success of prestigious construction projects in the region. Roles and Responsibilities: Manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring that designs are developed in accordance with project requirements, budget constraints, and deadlines. Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish project objectives, design criteria, and deliverables. Lead design coordination meetings, providing guidance and support to the project team to resolve design issues and conflicts. Review and backss design drawings, specifications, and documentation to identify potential risks, discrepancies, or areas for improvement. Liaise with external consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain design information, approvals, and technical submissions. Monitor design progress and performance against project milestones, proactively identifying and addressing any deviations or delays. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards throughout the design process. Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture within the project team, encouraging creativity, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on design progress, challenges, and solutions.
