DescriptionThe Mortgage Business Control Specialist provides analytical and project support integrating credit, compliance, regulatory and process change in coordination with operations leadership. The role consults with management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement change, improvements and remediation efforts. The role is responsible for and ensuring accurate reporting per regulations for HMDA compliance for internal and regulatory review. Additionally, the role is responsible for review all declined loans to ensure appropriate disposition to match the reasons for decline and properly complete the Statement of Credit Denial including monitoring of the pipeline for any files that have not been decisioned within the required timeframe per Regulation B. Assist in monthly HMDA exception reviews and batch updatesAssists in filing the HMDA LAROversee, review and monitor loans to ensure compliance is adhered to with TILA, RESPA, FCRA, TRID and ECOA rules and additional regulations through the pre-funding and post-closing quality control review processAssist in researching and investigating adverse loans to ensure they were correctly dispositionedMaintains current knowledge of all compliance requirements and upcoming changes that impact the residential mortgage lending industryProactively provides effective feedback and guidance and support for other Mortgage related compliance issuesWorks collaboratively within the compliance team as well as across all business lines to proactively implement new compliance programs and changes Qualifications: 4-5 years of related mortgage experience for conventional loans5-7 years of recent mortgage disclosure and HMDA/adverse action experienceHigh School diploma or GED, College degree preferred Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to perform basic and carry out written instructionsTravel to a variety of locations to perform work and/or attend meetings as required. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the positionLifting in an office setting may be required up to 30 lbs.
