DescriptionGAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an electrical engineer to support our Power and Industry Business Sector. This engineer will participate in the evaluation, estimating and design of new or refurbished systems for industrial, power, utility, government, health care, educational, and commercial clients. The successful candidate is eligible for a GAI sign-on bonus and will have the ability to work a hybrid work schedule.Essential Job Duties: The electrical engineer will function as a member of a team or independently to design electrical distribution within buildings and facilities and related systems, such as communications or fire alarm systems.The engineer will also evaluate existing facilities, perform conceptual studies, estimate engineering and construction costs, and develop project schedules.They will work with the National Electrical Code (NEC- NFPA 70) and other relevant codes to ensure that all projects are safe and meet regulatory requirements.This engineer must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers in the electrical team and other disciplines, and with customers.The electrical engineer must also be able to function with minimal supervision.The successful candidate must have good skills in Microsoft word and Excel.Experience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.Experience with Primavera, Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software is preferred. Travel will be less than 10% and is usually within 100 miles of the office and only one day. Overnight trips may occur 1-2 times per year. Education/Experience: Minimum of 4 years related experience in a consulting firm or 6 years in an industrial plant.Four-year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degree required.
