Description Leidos program is seeking a Unix Administrator in Ops to support efforts for Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT); virtualized data centers. SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under SMIT, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.Primary ResponsibilitiesAdminister and manage physical and virtual UNIX systems running RHEL 6.x, 7.x and 8.xResponsible for managing/administering the day-to-day operations of Unix systems at three physical locations; Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA and Honolulu, HI.Oversee incident resolution, ensuring appropriate response to escalationsCoordinate infrastructure repairs including directing remote activities to ensure continuity for service deliveryReview root cause analysis documentation to address performance management and incident correlation issuesOversee daily shift activities and document in appropriate reporting and ticketing tools and ensure continuity for any outstanding issuesWork with Cyber Security analysts to ensure Enterprise information flow is secureEnsures effective and efficient operation of network systems, architecture and topologyMonitor to ensure all operating systems are functioning properly and conform to operation security policies and proceduresReceive and analyze network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts. Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution.Assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levelsDevelop and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the Network Operations CenterParticipate in strategic network and operations planningWork within the DevSecOps methodology to plan and support implementation of new technologiesPrepare recommendations for resolutions to NetOps challenges based on monitoring results, tools analysis, and/or forensicsAssist the Cyber Team; employ approved defense-in-depth principles and practices (e.g., defense-in-multiple places, layered defenses, and security robustness).Assist with the collection of intrusion artifacts (e.g., source code, malware, and trojans) and use discovered data to enable mitigation of potential computer network defense (CND) incidents within the enterprise.Basic QualificationsBS degree (or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT, EE, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; with 4 to 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 to 6+ years of prior relevant experience.Additional years of related work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.US Citizen and DoD Secret ClearanceDoD 8570.01-M: Information Assurance Manager (IAT) II; Must possess CompTia Security + CE, equivalent or higherHands-on Experience in working with DoD networks, including NIPR, SIPR and PPSNWork within the DevSecOps framework with the engineering and security teams to test new network designPlans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the networkAdvise network users of hardware requirements, configurations and limitationsMaintain technical expertise in all relative areas including security, operating systems, onprem and cloud technologiesEvaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the networkExceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topicsAbility to support work efforts outside of the standard work schedulePreferred QualificationsDemonstrated hands-on expertise in large complex infrastructuresProven ability to influence and mangers of other service support models and supporting teamsAbility to manage globally distributed 24x7 operations to include short-notice travel in response to emerging operational issuesAn entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to drive innovation independently; have a passion to improve at every opportunityProven ability to effectively communicate and work with technical teams and business stakeholders to resolve challengesAbility to define program goals and roadmaps based on customer needs and strategic direction, and ensure that committed projects are delivered on schedule by the relevant team membersAbility to lead and work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and program leadershipExperience with ITIL processes and/or ITIL Foundation V3/4 certificationVirtualization experience with VMware technologiesExperience with Ansible automating tasks on RHEL 6, 7, and 8Red Hat CertificationScripting and STIG management/ImplementationPay Range:Pay Range $66,300.00 - $119,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
