Requisition ID: 144909 Opportunity Type: Permanent Estimated Annual Salary: 250,000 - 300,000 Type of Remuneration: AFP - Academic Funding Plan For information and to determine eligibility for Department of Health and Wellness Incentives, please contact About This Opportunity The Department of Psychiatry of Dalhousie University and Mental Health and Addictions, Central Zone, Nova Scotia Health (NSH), has an excellent opportunity for a family physician (FP) to work on the general psychiatric units within the Mental Health Program. Responsibilities The position would involve a unique team approach to inpatient care where Mental Health Hospitalists provide comprehensive, compassionate high-quality care, which involves patients as active participants in their own care. All aspects of the position would require the FP to work with multi-disciplinary teams in an enthusiastic manner with the capacity for self-direction. Qualifications The successful applicant will have the following qualifications: Medical degree and current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain clear records of patient evaluations and clinical thought process Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Must be eligible for medical staff privileges with the Nova Scotia Health Authority Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience and is based upon a highly competitive Alternative Funding Plan.
