We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant in the Jesup, GA area. Place of Performance : The Dental Assistant Services will be performed on-site in the Health Services Department at the Federal Correctional Institution in Jesup GA. Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm You must pass mandatory background, credit check and drug screening. Qualified candidates will be expected to submit the following: Current resume Dental Assistant certification / diploma CPR (front & back) Proof of immunizations Benefits: Competitive salary Health Insurance Benefit Paid Time Off (Executive Order 13706) - effective after one year of service with Nitelines USA, Inc.: One (1) hour accrual per every 30 hours work up to 56 hours per year. Vacation - effective after one year of service with Nitelines USA, Inc.: Two (2) weeks paid vacation after one (1) year of service with a contractor or successor, three (3) weeks after five (5) years, and four (4) weeks after 15 years. Education and Experience: The Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school. Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety. The Dental Assistant shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. The Dental Assistant shall have a minimum of one (1) - two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services. Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are preferred but not required. Description of Duties: Assists Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations. Retrieve patient's records and escorts patients to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepares patient for attending Dental Officer Assists Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications Passes instruments, retracts tissues, irrigates oral cavity, and operates aspirator Observes patient's responses, and assists patient for dismissal from the Dental Clinic Gives instructions for subsequent dental appointments Makes necessary entries on dental treatment records (both electronic and paper records) Prepares dental treatment room for the next patient Assists in the treatment of emergency cases. Provides dental health education Charting for dental screening exams Preparation of patients for periodontal surgery Dental and periodontal charting Places temporary fillings Prepares places, and removes packs Places and removes rubber dams Maintains dental equipment Cleans, sharpens, and sterilizes instruments Performs daily inspection of equipment and makes minor repairs Reports defective equipment, or utilizes corrective action Prepares entries for patient's records Apply for this position
