Demand Planning Manager

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for managing the demand forecasting process and leading the demand portion of S&OP. This includes leading the necessary meetings that incorporates business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing and other sources to create a consensus demand forecast (in both units and dollars), entering any changes into our forecast software (Vanguard) and uploading these forecasts to our Oracle ERP system for execution. The role requires a team oriented, analytical and interpretive individual with strong process and systems skills. Essential Accountabilities Oversee the monthly downloading of sales data to our forecasting software (Vanguard). Manage the forecast software's statistical settings to optimize results. Based on historical sales data, develops the best "base statistical forecast" Generate and distribute Sales Forecast Reports. Lead weekly/monthly forecast meetings with Sales to develop a consensus demand forecast. Update forecast software with Sales forecast changes/additions/deletions. Upload consensus forecast to our ERP system for execution. Lead the preparation and implementation of the demand S&OP meetings. Partner with Supply Planning Manager on the overall S&OP process. Update forecasts throughout the month as future sales events become known. Document daily processes and best practices in Desk Level Instructions. Able to identify market trends and incorporate into the forecast. Create and measure key performance indicators to track and evaluate forecasts. Assess the effectiveness of demand planning and forecasting function and work towards continuous improvement. Support business, sales and marketing, inventory and production strategies, and organizational/supply chain improvement opportunities to meet market needs. Provide support to Executive team as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Statistics or related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Demand Forecasting. APICS certification preferred. Oracle experience a plus.
