JOB SUMMARY / DESCRIPTION The ECRS DBMS team is a self-managing SCRUM team that creates software that is used by hundreds of thousands of users and millions of retail consumers. Our team desires a developer who aspires to improve a spectrum of software related to our data including APIs, database calls, synchronization, and automated testing. RESPONSIBILITIES Working with a team of developers to expand the core database powering a large suite of applications. Performing agile development with focused sprint objectives and deliveries. Contributing to design, features, and fixes. Constructing triggers, stored procedures, and constraints to support business logic across multiple applications. Optimizing existing code. Contributing to database upgrade applications. Performance tuning database services. Identifying and remediating product defects. Strong Communication within the team and working with customers on escalated issues to identify solutions. Writing SQL based unit tests. QUALIFICATIONS Experience with a major commercial relational database management system. SAP SQL Anywhere, Oracle, or SQL Server preferred. Experience in database code optimizations, including analyzing indices, statistics and more. Experience developing database applications with the git source control system. Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux file systems. Object oriented programming experience (Java preferred, C#, Ruby). Bonus experience / skills: Experience with Docker and constructing environments for different use cases. Experience in Kubernetes or Nomad. Experience with JetBrains IntelliJ Idea integrated development environment. PHP, bash, PowerShell, and other scripting languages. Networking skills (OSI model, understanding of TLS, protocol analysis). Understanding of RESTful web services. Experience in retail / wholesale operations. Experience with the ECRS CATAPULT product suite. ETL / replication experience (preferably using SAP MobiLink). Experience with backup / disaster recovery strategies.
