What you will do:Database Design and Implementation:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand database requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable database designs.Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects.Configure and optimize database parameters and settings for optimal performance.Database Security and Access Control:Implement and enforce data security measures, including user access control, authentication, and encryption.Monitor and audit user activity to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal policies.Implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data from loss or corruption.Performance Monitoring and Optimization:Monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize query execution plans.Analyze and tune database configurations, indexes, and queries to improve system performance.Implement database performance monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify and address issues.Database Maintenance and Administration:Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and database consistency checks.Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.Monitor database storage and capacity, and plan for growth requirements.Database Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including data corruption, performance degradation, and connectivity problems.Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot complex database issues.Analyze database logs and error messages to diagnose and resolve problems.Data Governance and Compliance:Implement and enforce data governance practices, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Collaborate with data stakeholders to define and enforce data standards, data dictionaries, and data lineage.Participate in data-related audits and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.Documentation and Communication:Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.Communicate database-related information and best practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical guidance and support for database-related projects. Ability to work autonomously and to prioritize workloadDemonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, taking plans into action and leading initiatives to finishStrong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database management systems (knowledge of PostgreSQL is a plus).Familiarity with database performance monitoring and tuning tools.Understanding of database security principles and best practices.Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (or a related field) or equivalent experience is required A minimum of 6 years of experience in a Database Administrator or a similar IT role is required Intermediate to Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in writing complex queries and stored procedures is required. Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $91.100 to a maximum of $133,700. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
