Position: Data Scientist with Clearance II (Mid-Sr. Level) Location: Tampa, FL Benefits: 100% company paid Overview: Seeking Data Scientist with the ability to operationalize data sources and analytic studies for a Department of Defense client. Experience formulating and leading the development of complex data solutions with large volumes of data required. Minimum of Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI required. Requirements: Four-year degree from a fully accredited college or university Certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree for select technical requirements 5+ years' experience in data analysis, exploration, cleaning, visualization, or mining of structured, unstructured, or semi-structured data Proficiency with one or more programming languages Java, C++, Python, R, etc. Proven Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources Experience with designing and executing machine learning models and applications to include natural language processing, text mining, or machine learning techniques Experience cleansing data for data science applications using data wrangling techniques Ability to build statistical models and develop machine learning algorithms TS-SCI clearance Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields from a fully accredited college or university Master's degree in Data science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics Knowledge and experience with the following: Distributed programming languages such as Spark or Scala Distributed data and computing tools such as MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Gurobi, or MySQLA Data engineering and data science tools such as Databricks, ElasticSearch, Apache, NiFi, or StreamSets Business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Qlik Visualization packages such as Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2 Data lakes, data warehouses, or data lake houses Cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Enterprise DataOps, DevSecOps, and MLOps processes to operationalize and monitor data science models Experience with CI/CD processes (continuous integration, continuous delivery and or continuous deployment) using Git, Jenkins, and/or Docker Experience in the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or SQL/NoSQL Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen intently Experience with decision models, wargaming, simulation, or resource allocation Command and General Staff College or Service Duties/Responsibilities: Explore and operationalize data sources to uncover and communicate product and business insights Coordinate research and analytic activities utilizing various data points (unstructured and structured) Utilize programming to clean, massage and organize data Experiment against data points to facilitate the discovery of solutions for data challenges Apply specific functional knowledge related to data analysis and general industry knowledge to support the client's objectives Develop or contribute to a variety of data solutions ranging from moderate to complex in scope May review or guide more junior employees About Group W: Group W is a 100% employee-owned company that hires great people to provide analysis, modeling, simulation, wargaming, and research, for visionary clients in government, commercial, and non-governmental entities.
