Data Scientist (Onsite/Remote) We have an immediate need for a contract Data Scientist to join a leading dental business support organization. The Data Scientist will leverage their data wrangling and analytical expertise to cleanse, enrich, and transform data to improve model performance and drive business value. Location: Mission Viejo, CA; onsite preferred but remote working Pacific hours is fine This job expects to pay about $65 - 80 per hour plus benefits. What You Will Do: Collaborate with engineers and data analysts to understand AI/ML model requirements and data pipelines. Access, explore, and analyze large datasets from various sources to identify inconsistencies, errors, and missing values. Implement data cleaning and transformation techniques to ensure data quality and usability for AI/ML models. Develop and maintain data pipelines to automate data ingestion and preparation processes. Perform exploratory data analysis to discover patterns and insights that can be used to improve model performance. Develop and apply data augmentation techniques to enrich datasets and address potential biases. Monitor and evaluate data quality metrics to ensure data pipelines are functioning effectively. Document data cleaning and transformation processes for reproducibility and future reference. Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. What Gets You The Job: Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 3 years of experience working with data analysis and manipulation. Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python (R is a plus). Experience with data wrangling tools and libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy). Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Preferred: Familiarity with specific AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Preferred: Familiarity with Streamlit and Snowflake data.
