The Data Analyst II reports to the Senior Data Analyst and the Programming Department Software Development Manager. The position is located at 500 Steed Road, Ridgeland MS 39157. GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Data Analyst II will work under the supervision of the Lead Data Analyst. This is a mid-senior level role. Assigned work will help to broaden the DAII's experience and increase SQL skills. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed here are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Design, develop, and maintain both new and existing SQL queries using SQL Management Studio. Design, develop, and maintain both new and existing reports. Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize data. Develop views and stored procedures to meet reporting and application development needs. Review and understand requirements to be able to translate reporting needs into production reports and dashboards Document changes to current reports and creation of new reports and work with QA to ensure that requirements are met Maintain a repository of reusable reports through Microsoft DevOps. Support the reporting needs of the software development cycle activities. Conduct continuous review of reports with the aim of minimizing redundant reporting and develop a single source of truth. Receive direction from Senior Data Analyst and Department Manager. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate for this position would have the following required experience as follows: Bachelor's degree in a Computer Programming or related field or equivalent work experience. Proficiency at writing SQL queries and validating SQL query results. Understanding of Data Visualization & best practices. Advanced understanding of the ETL process & best practices. Must be able to independently solve technical problems and collaborate with other analysts. Must have the capacity to complete technically challenging projects. Must have a solid understanding of the System Development Life Cycle and the SCRUM methodology. Must understand HIPAA rules that apply to dealing with sensitive data. The ideal candidate for this position would have the following preferred experience as follows: At least 4 years of experience working with large-scale relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MSQL & Access). At least 4 years developing SQL queries. At least 4 years of experience using reporting tools to present data. Experience using Microsoft Business Intelligence (SSIS, SSRS & SSAS) Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.) WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must have the ability to work independently while practicing effective time management skills. Must be able to prioritize work on multiple projects and meet project deadlines in an organized manner. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and have keen attention to details. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills are required. Must be able to handle high priority time sensitive work items. Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position as stated above can be fully met. Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and sit or stand at a desk during 85% of the workday. Must be able to lift, stoop, and carry small equipment items and supplies, possibly weighing up to 20lbs.
