Cutting Manager

Description:
This converting facility produces cartons for consumers as well as beverage for a variety of customers. This is a sheet:fed operation with approximately 200 employees. Position Purpose: Responsible for providing leadership, guidance, direction and management for the Cutting Department during the various shift operations. Ensures production safety, quality and customer satisfaction goals are met. Initiates and supports all processes and ensures compliance with Six Sigma efforts. Minimal supervision required. Job Functions: :Plans, directs, and manages cutting operations to achieve operating goals and objectives consistent with plant and division objectives. :Identifies cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities in support of Six Sigma efforts. :Identifies capital improvement projects for the department and provides project management support. :Manages department efforts across shifts and with other departments and functions. :Establishes department goals in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and employee development. :Ensures production operations are conducted in a safe and clean working environment and complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations. :Identifies activities and opportunities that improve the manufacturing processes and controls costs throughout the department. :Directly involved in responsibilities / actions related to Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs. :Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods. :Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required. :Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Required Skills :Proven leader with demonstrated results :Excellent written and verbal communications skills :Ability to manage projects, resources and people and set and meet target disciplines :Ability to develop improvements, achieve budget/cost constraints :Supervisory experience :Proficient with Microsoft Suite Preferred: :Bachelors degree in a related field or discipline :5:8 years experience in Converting Operations and/or working with Dies or equivalent combination of education and experience :Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Complex Problem:Solving experience/certification :SAP experience Required Experience At Graphic Packaging International, we produce the paper cup that held your coffee this morning, the basket that transported those bottles of craft beer you enjoyed last weekend, and the microwave tray that heated your gourmet meal last night.
