QUALIFICATIONS: Must be customer service oriented. Have a reasonable understanding of US geography with respect to State and major city locations. Good math skills and accuracy. Good phone etiquette. Good organizational skills. Able to multi-task Proficient in Microsoft Office PRIMARY DUTIES: Confirm with the customer that their order can be shipped and alert them to any problems should they arise. Work with carriers to set load times and produce accurate paperwork. Print, collate, Work Order, and dispatch paperwork for shipping. Get accurate shipping rates for customer service based on the criteria given. Have knowledge of transportation times and other key aspects of shipping Have adequate knowledge of product specifications. Over time, learn sufficient knowledge of the Manager of Distribution duties to act as a temporary fill-in. Handling claims when a product is damaged or lost in transit. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Distribution and Customer Service Manager Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and system. Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
