The Role : As an Cultural Saf ety Strategic Initiatives Lead at CLBC, you will be responsible for advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety and the practice of cultural humility at Community Living BC. As a key member of the Indigenous Relations team, you will support the development of a cultural safety framework and plan that is relevant to the values and strategic direction of the organization and the community inclusion movement. This includes supporting the development of strategic priorities to address the needs of Indigenous self-advocates and their families; alignment with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and its principals; and guided by UNDRIP partners and our Indigenous Advisory Committee. Responsibilities include: working collaboratively with the Indigenous Advisory Committee, CLBC staff, community partners, and other internal/external stakeholders to lead the organization to meet its goal of enhancing Indigenous people's access to CLBC services providing province-wide leadership on matters concerning Indigenous self-advocates and their families, working closely with Head Office Departments and Regional Operations to lead engagement with First Nations, Metis and Inuit people, and develop innovative approaches to advancing CLBC's relationships with Indigenous individuals and communities. providing leadership in policy and guidelines, systems level collaboration, regional.
